Our Beliefs
FBC Hornbeck is a Southern Baptist Church and is in agreement with the scriptural beliefs of the Southern Baptist Convention as outlined in the SBC Basic Beliefs. It is important to note that every Southern Baptist Church is unique. Each church is individually governed and led by its staff and its members. Therefore, if you visit more than one Southern Baptist Church, you will notice a great degree of individuality. At FBC Hornbeck, we have identified six core values that shape the way we do church. The following is a list and brief description of our core values.
Truth Matters We acknowledge the Bible as the perfect Word of God. Demonstrated by…our commitment to reading, studying, memorizing, meditation upon and then obeying God’s Word. Proverbs 30:5-6, 1 Timothy 3:16-17
Total Dependence Apart from God we can do nothing. Demonstrated by… allowing the Holy Spirit to inspire, guide and empower us through fervent prayer and obedience to God’s perfect will.

Eternal Impact We seek to make a forever difference in people’s lives. Demonstrated by… using every resource and opportunity to reach our region, impact our nation and touch our world. Mat. 22:37-40, 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, John 3:16, 20:21
Mutual Respect We treat one another with love and care. Demonstrated by… going out of our way to listen, communicate, support and celebrate one another, so that each person and their contribution in ministry is held in high regard. John 13:34-35, Rom. 12:4-10.
Generational Relevance We communicate the unchanging message of Christ to an ever-changing world. Demonstrated by… encouraging and celebrating the commitment it takes to reach each generation and creating opportunities for cross-generational ministry and interaction. Acts 2:42, 1 Cor. 9:19-23
